Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edward Choke Tieng Chek – Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Northern Heart Hospital
Assoc. Prof. Choke graduated with First-Class Honours in Medicine from the University of Sydney and later earned a PhD from the University of London, following award-winning research at St George’s Vascular Institute. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS).
Throughout his career, he has held prominent clinical and academic positions, including Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester, Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Singapore General Hospital, and the head of vascular at Sengkang General Hospital. He is also the past president of the Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Singapore (SVESS).
He is a prolific researcher with over 100 publications in high-impact journals and has authored five book chapters on vascular surgery. Assoc. Prof. Choke is a sought-after speaker at leading international conferences and serves as a peer reviewer for numerous journals.
His research work has also been featured at New York Times Square. In addition to his clinical and research expertise, he is deeply committed to medical education; previously holding faculty positions at DUKE-NUS and the National University of Singapore.
He is now practising at Northern Heart Hospital in Penang, his hometown, where he is dedicated to giving back to the community.
