Admission Process At Northern Heart Hospital

You will be notified by your doctor on the date of admission (same day or in future)

Come to the hospital on time and bring along all relevant documents.l)

* Guarantee letter/reference letter (if applicable)

Head to the Admission Counter to complete the admission process.

Insurance Patient
* Standard deposit of RM300 or as per policy

Self-Paying Patient
* Full deposit payment amount varies based on treatment and room type.

Once your room/bed is ready, you will be send to ward.

Admitting to Northern Heart Hospital

Please proceed to the Admissions & Discharge Counter (Lobby, Level 1) for patient admission.

When to Arrive

It is advisable to arrive at least two hours prior to the scheduled time unless instructed otherwise by the doctor. This is to allow sufficient time for thorough preparation, enabling better care.

Documents to Bring

  • Admission form (if you were given one prior to admission)
  • Patient’s NRIC/passport
  • Next-of-kin’s NRIC/passport
  • Guarantee letter/referral letter (if applicable)
  • Medical card

Personal Items

  • Personal toiletries (basic toiletries are provided complimentary)
  • Pyjamas/comfortable clothing if you do not wish to wear a hospital gown. Please be advised that we do not provide laundry service for personal clothing.
  • In the interest of safety, you are strongly discouraged to wear any jewelry or bring valuables and large sums of money. Northern Heart Hospital will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to personal properties

Deposit

  • Upon admission to the hospital, you are required to provide a deposit, the amount of which is determined by the type of surgery or procedure scheduled.
  • Deposit can be made using any of the following methods:
    • Cash (Ringgit Malaysia only)
    • Banker’s cheque
    • Debit/Credit Card
    • Online Bank transfers
    • E-Wallet
  • The hospital accepts letter of guarantee only from corporations with established credit arrangements.
  • A deposit sum must be paid if your guarantee letter has a limit insufficient to cover your procedure costs.

Room and Board

  • Room availability can only be confirmed upon admission.
  • Self-paying patients may request room upgrades at any time during their stay and must pay additional charges.
  • Patients who are admitted under a Company’s Guarantee Letter will be responsible for paying the difference between the upgraded room rate and the guaranteed rate, as well as any requested co-payment.

Patient Identification

  • Upon admission, you will receive an identification wristband containing personal information like your name, NRIC, and MRN.
  • Please verify the accuracy of all details.
  • You are required to wear the wristband throughout your hospital stay.

Upon admission, you will receive an comfort kit with the hospital’s compliments. It is a canvas pouch containing the following items:

Room Facility

  • Sofa bed

  • Complimentary bottled water

Inpatient Meals

  • All meals served at Northern Heart Hospital are Halal certified. Please use your own cutleries for non-halal food.
  • Your meals will be provided for while you are admitted.
  • Meal service is subject to your attending consultant’s medical instructions and our Dietetics team will take note if you require a special diet.
  • If you have specific dietary requirements, please notify your ward nurse.
  • Any additional Ala-Carte items ordered from the hospital’s Food & Beverage menu will incur charges added to the patient’s bill.

In-Room Patient Entertainment

  • Each patient’s ward is equipped with a television set offering a variety of channels.
  • Wi-Fi is complimentary.

Nurse Call-Bell

Nurse call-bell services in the ward are provided as part of our nursing care service and will not incur additional charges. Please do not hesitate to call for assistance.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited on hospital premises in accordance with the Malaysian law.

Leaving the Ward

Please notify your ward nurse if you intend to leave the ward for any reason. This helps ensure that you don’t miss any medication, scheduled tests, or your attending doctor’s ward visits.

Leaving the Hospital Premises

For your safety, refrain from leaving the hospital premises until your doctor approves your discharge.
