Dr. Chen Lean Seng is a distinguished Malaysian cardiologist and internal medicine specialist. With over a decade of medical expertise, Dr Chen is recognised for his dedication to advancing cardiology and patient care both in Malaysia and internationally.
Dr Chen earned his medical degree (MD) with a Gold Medal distinction in 2011 from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. He subsequently obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK) in 2016 and was gazetted as an Internal Medicine Specialist in 2017 by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. His commitment to professional development led him to complete a four-year Fellowship in Cardiology (2019–2023) and a Fellowship in Structural Heart Disease Intervention (2022–2023) at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand.
Dr Chen’s clinical expertise spans a wide range of cardiology subspecialties, including transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and advanced coronary and structural heart interventions such as transcatheter aortic valve interventions (TAVI) and MitraClip procedures. His research portfolio is equally impressive, featuring numerous publications in esteemed journals on cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence in cardiology and interventional cardiology outcomes.
Dr Chen has received numerous accolades for his contributions to cardiology, including the Heart Failure Research Award at the National Heart Association Malaysia Congress 2021 and second prize in the Young Investigator Award at the Japanese Circulation Society Annual Scientific Meeting 2022.
